Flybe has welcomed its three millionth passenger on the airline’s Belfast to Manchester service.  Nineteen-year-old James Forte, a computer science student from Crossgar, received VIP treatment for his milestone journey back to University in Chester.

Ken Harrower, Flybe Country Manager, explained, “Reaching three million passengers on this route is a significant point in the development of the service which now includes up to seven daily flights.  It has been a very popular connection since day one but even more so now as Manchester has become a key hub offering onward connections to destinations across the world.  We were delighted to welcome James on board who, as a university student represents a sizeable proportion of our commuting customers.    He also benefits from a special double baggage allowance which is available to all students carrying a current student card.  On behalf of Flybe we wish James well in his future studies and look forward to flying him many times to Manchester as he completes his degree.”

To mark the occasion, James was given a Flybe purple carpet experience including limousine transport to the airport, fast track security, relaxation in the business lounge, a trumpet fanfare and guard of honour as he boarded the aircraft with complimentary food and drinks all the way to Manchester.  He also has two return flights to anywhere on Flybe’s UK network to look forward to.  James’ VIP journey was recorded for Flybe’s YouTube channel.

Manchester is one of 15 direct destinations offered by Flybe from George Best Belfast City Airport.  For more information please click on to www.flybe.com
