Flint Studios has announced the launch of the first Northern Ireland-wide eCommerce survey in partnership with A&L Goodbody. Findings from the research will shed light on how Northern Irish companies are utilising eCommerce platforms and what impact it is having on the local economy.

The survey will highlight the challenges faced by these organisations, providing useful insight into the factors which may have a negative impact on business growth.

Jeremy Biggerstaff, Managing Director at Flint Studios, said:

“This study will be the first of its kind to be carried out in Northern Ireland. And, with more and more consumers favouring digital channels to research and purchase items online, we felt that it was the right time to launch an eCommerce-related survey such as this.

“In the online retail industry, customer shopping experiences have never been so important. The degree to which an eCommerce store can satisfy its visitors with aesthetic designs, rich functionality and seamless paths to conversion can have a significant bearing on business success.

“To remain competitive in a crowded marketplace, eCommerce business owners must take a fierce interest in industry-related trends and feedback. From this, they can optimise accordingly to ensure that their online store is attractive to both existing and potential customers.

Belfast-based Flint Studios specialises in user experience, systems integration and measurement, delivering results-driven solutions for a varied client base.

Jeremy continued:

“The findings of the survey will demonstrate the scale of eCommerce in Northern Ireland, providing a more thorough understanding of the markets that these companies are reaching, the challenges that they face and the perceived threats to their eCommerce operations.

“In terms of strategising for future digital endeavours, we believe that the tacit knowledge gained from the results of this survey will greatly benefit eCommerce businesses throughout all industries in Northern Ireland.

Mark Thompson, Corporate Partner at leading corporate law firm, A&L Goodbody, said:

“We welcome this opportunity to partner with Flint Studios in launching the first Northern Ireland-wide eCommerce survey.

“As an international law firm working closely with multi-national corporations, both at home and abroad, we see first-hand the significant growth potential that an effective digital strategy can unlock.

“This applies to our own business too. We’re investing significantly in new and emerging digital technologies that enable us to deliver a truly modern legal services to our clients and our employees.

“We’re confident that the findings from this research will help local firms from a variety of industries understand how they can better maximise the use of eCommerce as a digital practice, in what is an increasingly competitive online landscape.”
