The Fibrus service will offer download speeds that are 17 times faster than the average speed across Northern Ireland, according to the latest Ofcom report*. This is thanks to Fibrus’s use of full-fibre networks which are designed exclusively to carry broadband, as opposed to copper networks that carry phone or television traffic.
Craig continued:
“Fibrus customers can expect hyperfast speeds, uninterrupted video calling and no more buffering. In a post-pandemic world, this is not only essential, but critical, as we strive to stay safe and remain connected both with business colleagues and our loved ones from the comfort of our own homes.”
As well as the £14million investment locally, Fibrus recently announced a plan to identify and ‘plug’ any remaining gaps to ensure 100% of homes and businesses in NI will have access to full-fibre by 2025, making NI the first region in the UK or Ireland to achieve this milestone.
