easyJet has launched a new route from Belfast to Venice and tickets are already on sale. From 22nd June, the service will operate twice a week on A320 aircraft, which seats up to 186 passengers.

Flights will be available throughout the year with fares starting from £27.71.*

Venice becomes the second Italian destination added to easyJet’s Belfast network in as many months, following the launch of a route to Naples in December 2017.

easyJet now offers 32 routes from Belfast and continues to expand at its base in Northern Ireland. The airline added three new routes to the network in recent months and will add a sixth aircraft to the base, which is due for delivery in June 2018.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager commented:

“We’re delighted to announce that even more new destinations will be available for our Northern Irish customers. We’re putting flights to Venice on sale today, allowing our customers to book early and take advantage of our lowest fares.

“We’re committed to expansion at Belfast Airport and the addition of another new route and additional aircraft will help us to deliver long term, sustainable growth, providing passengers with a greater range of destinations, all with low fares and great service.”

Graham Keddie, MD – Belfast International Airport commented:

“Excellent news once again from easyJet. Statistics indicate that Italy is a massively underserved market from Belfast, but we are taking significant steps to address this issue, with the addition of Venice joining services to Milan, Naples and Verona. Year-round flights to Venice are certain to be popular for city breaks, cruise-ship connections and even ski in winter, not to mention opening up the potential for increased Italian tourism into Northern Ireland.”

easyJet has flown over 50 million passengers since it launched operations from Belfast over 18 years ago, and over four million passengers in financial year 2017.

The airline continues to be the largest carrier serving Northern Ireland, operating over 70% of flights from Belfast International Airport and almost 50% of all commercial passenger traffic across Northern Ireland.
