RECOGNISED for affordability and quality, the first easyHotel in Ireland is set to open its doors on Howard Street, Belfast in September 2018. With an investment of £5 million, 60 jobs have been created during construction and a further 30 direct and indirect will be created once the super budget hotel is open for business.

David Crowe and Kevin Baird, the two men behind this first super budget hotel in Belfast, are keen to point out that although a low cost option it won’t skimp on quality. The easyHotel model is designed to cater for the increasing number of travellers who want simple comfort, a central location and great value to allow them to get out to explore all the experiences cities have to offer. The easy #letsgo reflects this growing audience.

Speaking about the hotel which is currently under construction, with three months to go, David said; “We believe Belfast is ready for this hotel and this brand. As a super budget hotel I’m very proud of the quality of this hotel, which will offer rooms at a reasonable price.

“It is perfect for someone who wants a clean and comfortable room, right at the heart of Belfast’s city centre. It works for the discerning tourist who wants to explore the city, the historic pubs, museums, the many fine restaurants, as well as all that Belfast has to offer. We like this approach because it ‘shares the love’ and ensures all the businesses in the city benefit.”

easyHotel Belfast will have 81 bedrooms across the four floors, free WIFI throughout, with the option of family rooms, double rooms, superior rooms, the signature easyHotel rooms without windows and of course ensuring they cater for those with disabilities. With several months to go until it is open in September 2018, two floors are near completion. There’s also a coffee shop, FIXX, which is situated on the ground floor alongside the entrance, which will serve great coffee, fresh sandwiches, cakes and croissants.

Kevin, keen to point out that their hotel will promote the very best of Northern Irish hospitality says he will be looking after the running of the hotel personally.

“The hotel set up is just like the budget airlines – everything is done online or on a mobile app. It is also one of the first to allow your smartphone to unlock your room without having to check in. This means our staff can concentrate on looking after our visitors, finding out what interests them and highlighting what the city has to offer,” says Kevin Baird.

“Customers will be greeted with a smile, have a fabulous clean and comfortable room, sparkling bathrooms and excellent air conditioning. There are little details too; like a mural of some of Belfast’s key places on a crisp white wall and the discrete reading lights. Everything is designed to be simple and we want our customers to leave with a smile.”

The new owners believe what they are offering will appeal to the tourist from Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland in addition to the business man or woman, who needs to stay for one or two nights.

Kevin adds; “easyHotel could also entice those living in the towns and villages across Northern Ireland who intend to have an evening or a weekend in Belfast while attending the Christmas party, a gig, or just an evening out and stay in Belfast for potentially less than the cost of a taxi fare. So whether you live in Holywood, Ballymena, Ballygowan or Lisburn, or further afield, this might just suit.

“The beauty of an easyHotel is its straightforwardness, the cleanliness and the cost – to quote another famous ad – it does what it says on the tin.”
