It has been a busy awards season for Northern Ireland’s digital industry with the Digital DNA awards following hot on heels of the DANI Awards earlier in the month. Both evenings proved highly successful for Bangor based Digital Solutions agency, Eyekiller, with four major wins including the coveted DANI “Best Agency” title and also three wins across ecommerce categories for work with Suki Tea, Wave & Wake and Robinson’s Shoes.

“It’s been a successful set of awards for the Eyekiller team and we are proud to receive the industry recognition. The shortlisted projects in each category were all extremely competitive so to come out on top is an excellent result and testament to the hard work that we put into creating each one of our tailor-made projects,” says Eyekiller founder and Creative Director, Jamie Robinson.

With the online marketplace continuing to grow across almost every sector, it’s no surprise that there is a constant demand for agencies to produce ever more sophisticated ecommerce solutions.

“The technology behind ecommerce in particular is evolving at a constant pace, keeping up with it and identifying where the opportunities are for our clients is key and for this reason we attribute much of our success to our excellent long-term partnerships with our clients,” explains Jamie. “Ecommerce and indeed all digital projects work best when there is a strong client/agency partnership, creating those relationships has not only helped gain industry recognition for our work but also increased our turnover for almost 50% since 2017.”

Amongst the winners at the Digital DNA’s was Robinson’s Shoes who have seen their online revenue has increased by 53% since they started working with Eyekiller.

“Online sales has become a major growth area for our business and we attribute much of the success to the strong relationship we have developed over the years with our web agency, Eyekiller, not only in terms of design and development but also working closely with their experienced digital marketing team,” says Kenny Brown, Managing Director at Robinson’s Shoes.

Building strong client relationships has not been limited to the Irish and UK markets, Eyekiller has been forging successful partnerships in the USA recently completing a contract for New York based arts venue, Symphony Space.

“Getting a foot into the USA marketplace was a seminal moment for our business,” adds Jamie. “Symphony Space is an iconic theatre in NYC and the projects attracted intense competition from world-class Manhattan based agencies, for it to come across the Atlantic to a company in Bangor was a brilliant coup. We were chosen on the back of our experience developing websites in the arts and entertainment sector for clients including Van Morrison, W5 and The MAC. Symphony Space was specifically drawn to Eyekiller because of our expertise with the third-party theatre box-office software, Spektrix. We have integrated Spektrix now in a number of arts sector websites, including The MAC in Northern Ireland and have just been awarded the contract for a mainland UK project to create a new website for a landmark museum in Oxford which will also use the technology.”

With the doorway into the US marketplace now firmly wedged open, Eyekiller’s ambitions are set on winning more business stateside in the near future.

“It’s been a great year so far and as we continue to grow our team and our client base locally and internationally, we couldn’t be prouder of our recent success.”
