The multi award-winning Crowne Plaza Belfast launched its newly extended Grand Ballroom conference suite at an event held by the Saffron Business Forum. Leading members of the Northern Ireland business community were the first to experience the enlarged facility at the business breakfast, featuring guest speaker Gareth Murphy of We Are Vertigo.

The capacity of the suite has risen up to 680 for a gala banquet and 1000 for a conference, making the faciality the largest of its kind in Northern Ireland.

The extension is part of a £5 million investment programme carried out by Belfast’s largest hotel group, Andras Hotels. The hotel has also seen all of its bedrooms refurbished and 33 new bedrooms added, including 16 new Club rooms, six suites and a stunning presidential suite giving the property the capacity to cater for large corporate events.

Speaking at the event, Rajesh Rana, director of Andras Hotels said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the Saffron Business Forum to officially open the new Grand Ballroom”

“The extra capacity gives us the ability to welcome events that we couldn’t cater for previously. Already we have won back clients who value the combination of size along with the great service we offer.”

“The £5 million enhancement programme we have carried out will keep our business in the forefront of modern taste and requirements and able to meet the needs of the whole community – whether it is a smaller event for 20 delegates or up over 650.”

Rajesh concluded: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire hotel team who consistently meet the demands of customers for first-class corporate events, banquets and meetings.”

The hotel extension has been designed by award-winning local architects Consarc and designers Philip Rodgers Design, and was carried out by NI firm MSM Contracts.
