In addition to the main categories there is also a Chair’s special achievement award, for an outstanding achievement by an individual, team or organisation that has made a significant contribution to the HR profession, selected by the CIPD Northern Ireland Chair and branch committee.
“The CIPD Northern Ireland Awards are the most prestigious accolades for the HR profession in Northern Ireland,’ said Lee Ann Panglea, Head of CIPD in Northern Ireland. “The awards continue to go from strength to strength. Last year saw a 41% increase in the number of entries, and we’re confident that we’re going to have an equally successful programme this year, with organisations looking for recognition for some of the excellent work in HR and L&D that is being undertaken in Northern Ireland.”
The judging process includes scrutiny of entries by a 12 strong panel of senior HR leaders and academics.
“The judging process is rigorous. All shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in an interview in April, to give deeper insight into their entry,’ explained Lee Ann. ‘The judges will be looking for entries demonstrating innovation and success, evidence of sustainability and the impact that the entries have had on the bottom line.”
MCS, one of Northern Ireland’s leading specialist recruitment agencies, are title sponsors of the awards. Managing Director, Louise Smyth said: “The MCS Group are very excited and proud to be sponsoring the CIPD Northern Ireland HR Awards. We are living in very interesting times of dramatic and accelerated change and our HR Leaders and their teams are the game changers when it comes to operational survival and success.
These prestigious awards are a great platform to showcase the innovation and creative people strategies HR professionals are designing and implementing to future proof their organisations, and to recognise the amazing and ambitious HR talent we have here in Northern Ireland.”
The awards culminate in a glittering gala awards ceremony at Titanic Belfast on Thursday 16th May. Q Radio breakfast show presenters Steven Clements and Cate Conway have been confirmed as hosts.
