London headquartered executive recruitment specialist, Altra Executives, have today announced the creation of 20 new highly paid jobs within the booming recruitment sector in Northern Ireland. The firm has begun to expand its footprint rapidly having recently partnered with a US based Private Equity firm with roots in Silicon Valley and New York to fuel its’ growth.

Altra Executives, who specialise in the Finance and Technology sectors, had until recently, been based solely out of their head offices within London’s landmark building, the Gherkin, boasting clients in the luxury retail and media sectors, such as Jimmy Choo, Cosmopolitan magazine, the Telegraph newspaper, and numerous FTSE100 companies.

The decision to expand has been sparked by Managing Director and Northern Ireland native, Fiona Cameron, who has had her eye on the Northern Irish market for some time now.

Commenting on the expansion, Fiona said, “It is an exciting time for the economy of Belfast and Northern Ireland, and we believe that as the economy continues to grow, so will the demand for skilled candidates”.

“There is a well-documented skills shortage in many sectors, with companies not being able to find suitable candidates with the right experience. With our roots firmly established in London, Europe and now closer to home, we are well placed to deliver these candidates”.

Leading Altra Technology is newly appointed Director, Russell Kennedy, who has over 18 years’ experience in the Tech recruitment sector in Northern Ireland.

Commenting on his role and the new office opening, Russell said, “Altra Executives combines extensive local knowledge and experience here in Belfast, with established business in London and Europe. Both local businesses and the foreign direct investment companies are demanding the highest calibre of candidate, and we have these readily available”.

Fiona continued, “We also run campaigns such as Bring them Back, which targets ex-pat professionals who are living in the US and Australia and showcases how attractive Belfast and Northern Ireland have become as a destination to live and prosper.”

Fiona puts much of her success and the success of Altra Executives down to her previous career as an Emergency room nurse. Fiona commented “As a nurse you really learn to connect with people quickly and to build strong and trusting relationships. I have taken these skills and instilled them into my team, and I believe as a firm, our ability to really understand our clients and our candidates quickly, is what sets us apart. My nursing is something that I am so proud of, but it was my love for business that prompted me to start Altra Executives almost 8 years ago now, and here we are today, recruiting all over Europe and opening new offices in Belfast, it’s a really exciting time”.

Russell went on to say, “I am delighted to start this new chapter with Altra Executives as Director of Altra Technology. Ambitious growth plans have been put in place by our Private Equity backers, and the future is bright. We are currently putting together our team, and with attractive packages, flexible working and modern new offices based in River House, we look forward to growing our team over the next number of months. At Altra Executives, our emphasis internally is on building the right culture, knowing from our experience, that the results will follow.
